Macalister Prestige Homes was founded in 1999, by 3 local Gippslanders. We are a family owned and operated business originating in Sale, where we still have our head office. The three founding owners are all still heavily involved in the day to day running of the business.
In 1999 Cal Board, Gavin Ronchi and Ernest Ronchi saw an opening in the residential building market in Gippsland. “We saw an opportunity to build reasonably priced houses and still maintain a high level of customer service”. It started with a display home in a new subdivision of Traralgon in the Latrobe Valley. This led to numerous jobs through out the Latrobe Valley and East Gippsland. A second display home was then built following the success of the first. This new smaller home was built in Sale and was the first "Townhouse" display in Gippsland. This new concept was an immediate success.
Following this early success Macalister Prestige Homes moved to bigger offices in the main street of Sale to accommodate the ever growing staff. By 2003 Macalister Prestige Homes were building 30 homes per year and had built up a team of reliable local trades people to help complete these homes.
In January 2005 Macalister Prestige Homes were building approximately 60 homes per year and had once again out grown it’s current offices and was in need of a larger space that would also accommodate a selection centre where clients could come and make their entire selections in the one place. A new site was sourced and the building began.
The office/showroom complex was completed in July 2005 and has serviced Macalister Prestige Homes well since then. We are currently building in excess of 100 homes per year. Over the last three years Macalister Prestige Homes has become Gippslands most awarded builder taking out awards from both the HIA and MBAV and twice being voted the Regional Builder of the Year.

With display homes now in Traralgon, Bairnsdale, Metung and new displays opening soon in Paynesville, Macalister Prestige Homes is well placed to maintain the steady growth it has seen for the last nine years and offer Gippslanders a local alternative when building their new homes.
